How much the books disagree, by competition
Bookmakers do not price a match identically, and the size of that disagreement varies by competition. Measured over 27,323 completed matches with a full set of closing prices (11 August 2026), the best surveyed price sat 6.83% above the market average for the same selection across the whole corpus. Split by competition it runs from 5.45% to 8.13%.
| Competition | Best vs average | Matches measured |
|---|---|---|
| Liga MX | 8.13% | 4,437 |
| Major League Soccer | 7.40% | 5,798 |
| Eredivisie | 7.24% | 1,904 |
| Bundesliga | 6.60% | 1,985 |
| Ligue 1 | 6.52% | 2,184 |
| Serie A | 6.48% | 2,478 |
| La Liga | 6.29% | 2,468 |
| Premier League | 6.21% | 2,490 |
| EFL Championship | 5.45% | 3,579 |
| UEFA Champions League | no corpus data | — |
The UEFA Champions League row is empty because the historical corpus holds no Champions League matches — not because its gap is small. A figure interpolated from the domestic leagues would read exactly like the rows above and would be invented, so none is shown.
Read every figure here as a property of the market rather than as a return. The best price is taken across all surveyed books, including books that limit winning accounts and quotes that were never simultaneously obtainable, so it is an upper bound on what a real bettor captures. Clauseground does not currently claim a proven historical edge — the full measurement and its limits sets out the method, and the performance framework holds our own record.
