best is the most favourable usable price in our latest collected set and the venue offering it. Three kinds of quote are removed first: exchange lay prices, outlier prices from soft books, and any price above a per-market sanity ceiling (25.00 on 1X2, 10.00 on totals, 8.00 on both-teams-to-score) — those are almost always in-play or feed artefacts, but the ceiling is a blunt rule and it will occasionally discard a real long price. A price shown with an age in brackets is one whose own quote is behind the rest of the market. no-vig is one reference book’s own prices for home / draw / away with its margin divided out, named by that book — not a blend of the books counted next to it, and a different number again from the model-and-market blend on the row above. Exchanges are never the reference: our snapshots do not record which side of an exchange price was quoted, so it may be a lay price, which is neither takeable nor a sound basis to divide a margin out of. books counts venues quoting all three outcomes, which is the completeness a no-vig calculation needs. The arrow is the biggest move on that same reference book over roughly the last day, so it reflects the market rather than which venues happened to be polled; flat means we compared and it did not move, and no ref means there was no comparable quote 24 hours ago. Prices move — check the venue before acting.
